Places like Saffron or Mauville are cities at 4-way intersections, like the nodes in a square grid. And, if everything is like that, it would feel stale. In contrast, compare Mauville to the towns on this map of Hoenn for example. Anyway I'm sure you get what I mean.I think I get what you’re saying. The drawing I gave is more of an outline as I said, I was going for a similar look to the in game gen 5 maps where things are depicted in roughly the shape they are in game but looking at the actual grid structure of the areas laid out, it’s less cut and dry. Picrel is roughly what I had in mind for the grid structure, but it’ll likely be changed
