Obviously, the idea of the gym leader is to abuse the hell out of entry hazards so that Yanmega or Crustle will have a chance of sweeping your entire team. If you have a good and fast fire, rock, or flying type to lead, the fight should probably be a cakewalk. Looking at this, this is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever designed.
