>>51068822I was playing Silver version, it was around 8pm, and I was on my way to get the Cleanse Tag south of Cerulean City. And I found Meowth! Meowth was already my favorite Pokemon, even before the anime aired here in the US. I even bought the Prima's Official Strategy Guide, solely because it had a screenshot of a Meowth and Sandshrew battling. On that same file, I got a lvl 15 shiny Golbat while I was in Mt. Mortar to get Tyrogue. I never went back to get that Tyrogue. And then I was breeding Red Gyarados with a Dragonair I fished up, and hatched a shiny Dratini on the first egg. I didn't know it was shiny, because it was sorta grey, until I looked at the stats screen and popped off. That was like 23 years ago or something. But I'll always remember it, especially when on a different save file a bunch of stuff got glitched and corrupted. But that's another story. And Meowth is still my favorite Pokemon to this day.
