Maybe my eyesight has gotten poorer than usual but BW Unova and Kalos kind of look like similar amounts of wasted space. B2W2 Unova obviously does a slight job adding a bit more even if a couple areas got pruned for some reason. Alola at first looks not as bad until one realizes there's less space to be wasted because of all that fucking water that isn't surfable so it's actually quite a downgrade. The projections for Galar also don't look too good since they may be just as bad if not worse, but it's just a projection it might be a little better
or somehow fucking abysmal beyond our wildest dreamstl;dr I agree there's been a definite decline in exploreable space but Unova honestly wasn't that much better than Kalos. Maybe Alola and predicted Galar though.
