This drove anon wild to no end when BW was released with endless complaints about lack of realism and what not. These complaints completely ignored the introduction and existence of a Pokémon in that very gen who is explicitly described as having the ability to make clothes from plant matter. Entire species of Pokémon having a uniform culture of matching accessories is not alien to the franchise and has in fact been implemented since day one. See pic rel.
>Tangela, little red boots>Poli line, gloves>Mr Mime, shoes, gloves, body suit>Jynx, dress>Hitmonchan, gloves, tunic/tabbard >Mach line, wrestling trunks and power belt>Primeape, wrist and ankle braces>Cubone, skull helmetIn the instance of Cubone, this shows that even Pokémon at an infantile and feral level have the capacity to adorn their bodies with accessories. Instances such as Tangela and the Poli's show that Pokémon may have biological traits that resemble what we recognise as clothes. Mr Mime, Mach's, Jynx, they all indicate ways in which Pokémon have always mirrored human culture — and of course if we apply ourselves into the Pokémon world that line becomes blurred — that is to say, within the Pokémon world, to what extent are humans mirroring Pokémon culture? It's worth highlighting species like Hypno, the Kadabra/Alakazam and even Farfetch'd as every single individual member of these species arm themselves or otherwise utilise a tool that is an object external to their biological body. Pokémon do incredible and fantastic shit all the time, they always have done. Your limited understanding and the stunted boundaries you set for the franchise will never stop these creatures from exceeding your expectations or surprising you for better or worse.
