If you want art for banners or Icons you can use whatever you want, just know that they'll appear tiny on screen so don't fret about resolution enough. Just make sure they're distinct enough to see at a distance.
If you use a PNG, the background will be black, so if you don't like that take this background and put it on a different color. The injector has a bunch of options on how you want to present your games, so experiment for a bit.
