I thought it was fun enough as something I played for 20ish hours in between bigger RPGs, I never did the postgame or DLC either.
The pokemon roster felt smaller though which I didnt love.
To be honest I only really adored the explorers series, they were wonderful and had one of the best soundtracks but that was years ago. I played through DS rescue team and the switch one more recently and I found them fun but not as memorable. I still havent played super yet, but ive heard good things and am keen.
