Empress is a little better and manages to drag the plot back out of the gutter and into something that resembles what was left behind in Au Coup Par Coup, but it first requires the Problem Character to die before anything can get done. Ultimately Tex's biggest sin was trying to write PMD without any understanding or foreknowledge of the vibes of the setting when his skills lean far more to the benefit of mainline stories.
