The PSS was simple, concise and to the point, and allowed you to connect and battle with other people with a few buttons. Registering friends and O-Powers also made it great. The Festival Plaza regresses in this by adding way more bloat, and steps to get to these points. Most people simply want to battle and trade.

I can remember every single character in Alola and Galar and say 1 nice thing about them, yet Kalosperms can't even say the same.Very funny! Gen 5 houses some of the most recognizable characters in recent times: N, Cheren/Bianca, the gym leaders, Team Plasma, Iris, etc. But that's not even my point! I believe Gen 5 develops these characters way more than say, Gen 8 did, which was nigh nonsensical at times. As for Gen 7, only a few characters get that special spotlight.
