>>35798323I hate clipping but it's extremely common, it's just too much of a hassle to make sure clipping doesn't happen. Some devs have development anti-clipping collision detection, but it's not a widely available technology and not a priority for many. Only place you won't see clipping is in a pre-rendered cutscenes or film unless they are incompetent because a lot of the animation is being made or at least adjusted manually(see: the infamous Frozen gif), or in those bad western high budget AAA games that all they have going is graphics like Cawadoody. Obviously everything shows in these trailers and in-game cutscenes and gameplay footage.
This is why in every game with customization I pick short hair, also I mod my games to remove capes and other shit that clips. Here's one of my modded characters. Dragon's Dogma players may recognize this shoulder piece as the Sovereign's Mantle, as every cape in the game clips with foot while you walk and animations cannot be edited (at least at the time I made these mods), I got rid of it.
The fact that some people at /vp/ are throwing a fit over clipping and many are following is further proof people in this board only play pokemon and nothing else. This is a non-issue everywhere else.
The only bad part of that cap is the rail, and these is gameplay footage of a game that comes out in 7 months anyways.
