I've been playing since gen1, usually putting in 200+ hours into each gen (either in a single game or between the initial and 3rd versions or replays), and my first shiny wasn't until gen6. I was playing Y and I had just gotten Rock Smash, so I decided to give it a go to see what I could find, and pic related hopped out.
Honestly, I'm glad it was an interesting pokemon and not one that most everyone else already has like a Tentacool or Wingull
