Gen 4 salvaged a lot of mediocre Bug-types from prior gens, too, like Scizor and Ninjask, and it had the only Bug-type E4 trainer. Gen 5 might've introduced more and better Bug-types, but Gen 5 also introduced nearly 50% more Pokemon
