I didn't have any deaths against Mars and her illegal Purugly, but Becquerel got the soul sucked out of him by a random Aroma Lady's Budew. There go my dreams of having a deathless run.
I'm not terribly worried about Gardenia. An unevolved Zubat made a mockery of her last time, so if I can get Selene up to lv. 22, it'll be even more of a cakewalk. I'll have to keep Sasuke waiting in the wings (kek) just in case, but this is definitely going to be one of the easier fights.
I'll also be getting the Exp. Share in Eterna, which'll make training up Kurt a whole lot easier. I won't be able to use him until after the second gym, since Kadabra and Alakazam only learn Psybeam at level 24 and can't get Confusion at the Move Relearner until I reach Pastoria, but once he evolves... oh boy.
>>51607608Ponyta is virtually guaranteed right now, since I have Zubat, Geodude, Bidoof, can hatch Happiny, and can partially use the repel trick to cut some of the more annoying Pokemon (like Kricketot and Kricketune) out of the picture. I only have what's essentially 18.18% odds on Route 211, but I essentially have 64.28% odds on Route 206, 90.91% odds on Route 210, and 80% odds on Route 215; and if Stunky is the encounter for 206, I'd still have 70% odds on Route 214. If I'm doing my math right, that puts my odds of *not* getting Ponyta eventually (assuming I don't fuck up the capture) at 00.16%. Needless to say, I like those numbers.
As of right now, I can guarantee Bronzor for my Wayward Cave encounter, since I won't be needing Gible. Other guaranteed encounters coming soon are Gastly in the Old Chateau, Murkrow in the Lost Tower by extension of that, and Barboach in Eterna City. I'm reserving Route 208 for Cresselia and Mt. Coronet for Dratini/Dragonair.
