In all seriousness; Pokemon was and has been a big collect-athon, but when they make it not possible to get every Pokemon in a single game they should understand that people will inevitably cheat or find an exploit to get what the player cannot obtain. I understand back in the day when Mew was the biggest fucking deal and the only 'legit' way of obtaining it was to attend an event, mostly because it was just 1 Pokemon. But it has been almost 2 decades and there is no reason to have event Pokemon anymore.
That being said; if there are event 'mons they should be limited to being special in having event only attacks, ribbons, or in some cases held items. The idea of having version exclusives still makes sense because player interaction has also been a major point in the series; but when something is impossible to be obtained in game, then it makes sense that people will try to find or make their own exploits to obtain them. But that's just an opinion of someone who wants a full dex but has to cheat to get a dozen or so Pokemon that are no obtainable yet or ever will be.
