The more Pokémon you train, the harder the game is, which makes sense since that’s the primary challenge you’re taking on by being a Pokémon trainer. This is true of both pre and post exp share games but pre exp share you only need to train like 6 mons, or one full party, to have a reasonably challenging experience, where as post exp share you need to train multiple teams worth of mons in order to avoid overleveling. Therefore the exp share makes things easier. Posting an overleveled starter for the 5000th time will not change this.
