Making these games challening is so easy. you don't even need to nuzlocke, they just have to give the first few gym leaders more then 2-3 pokemon, come up with some mechanic that discourages healing/reviving, and not give you overpowered legends before the champion. i'm sick of having to impose these rules on myself just for a challenge.
