>>44607288>Gen 5 started the power creep trend>Gen 4 introduced Garchomp with 102 base speed>Gen 4 introduced Infernape to completely outclass Blaziken>Gen 4 introduced Staraptor and gave him Close Combat to powercreep all the other Normal/Flying birds>Gen 4 also introduced the trend of 120+ BP STAB moves to just make the majority of Pokemon that isn't offensively oriented to be obsoleteMeanwhile, Gen 5 introduced Eviolite, which let a Magmar top Worlds
I'm not saying that Gen 5 didn't powercreep stuff too, but Gen 4 totally started everything, when Gen 3's damage output was tame enough that you could play stuff like Feraligatr or Hariyama and not be at an overwhelming disadvantage against Salamence
>Megas, Dynamax,Megas, Z-Moves, and Dynamax are all mistakes. These gimmicks devolved battles because now those mechanics are a formality. You KNOW the opponent's gonna Dynamax at some point, so now it's just a game of whoever burns their Dynamax properly to determine the whole game in one fell swoop
