I personally didn't enjoy Gen 7's story very much because of how heavily it focused on Lillie and how little of an impact the protagonist had on the story as a whole, but I think that I understand why others tend to enjoy it. Good taste in side games, by the way.

Partially because GF is lazy and knows that no matter what they do, the Pokemon logo will print money for them, but also because there are tons of subpar pokemon in need of buffs, and buffing some of those may have a significant impact on others. Also, I'm glad to see someone else here appreciates sucker punch.
