In Pokemon Stadium, naming your pokemon would end up as different colors. It's also means the Anime wasn't full of bullshit when it's came to colors, you could see some species with slightly off coloring.
It's a real shame that after Pokemon Stadium, they decided to no longer give a shit about that, when a lot of people just loved to fuck around with their Pokemons just for the sake of earning a good color or shit.
