>>36110215100% agree. I actually had a soft spot for X and Y. Despite all their flaws, I enjoyed playing it with a lot of people and joining in /vp/ events. ORAS also had its charm. SM was a massive letdown, and I'm happy I skipped USUM for that same reason. Feels like the fatigue I got after Gen 3 games, skipping most of 4 and 5 because I just can't get into them no matter how hard I try.
I still like romhacks, but the official games are just one letdown after another. It's a shame too because I enjoy a lot of the new mons, I just don't care enough to go back, and probably won't for another 5 or so years at least.
