Pokemon GO was the beginning of the franchise's downfall, with Pokemon Company realizing that quality isn't necessary anymore to keep printing money. Especially since most money come from the merchandise. I couldn't see it at first since Sun/Moon and UltraSun/UltraMoon was a great game (and the last great main Pokemon game) and Sword/Shield despite its issues was a very good game (unfortunately the rest of main Pokemon games and remakes at Switch are trash).
