>>33828121>>33827091Oh, forgot to mention: watch the anime. ARC-V is a great place to start because it starts off simple and walks you through the game and all the new summons. The duels also get really good, and there are tons of unique decks and playing styles that could inspire you.
GX is also a great way to start. Fusion is important here, but while the Fusion mechanics are a little out of date, the series is pretty solid and has a lot of great decks.
5D's is also a great starting point, but Synchro Summoning might be a bit overwhelming at first. As the series goes on, it'll show you all the complex combos and ladder-climbing you can do to pull off some great stuff.
Zexal also exists. It spams Xyz continuously, but the duels are simple enough for a newbie to get into. There are also a lot of fun duels in this series, though the second half sacrifices duel quality for storytelling.
