>>57033056>I hope they take the game in that direction somewhat, cards like surge and Blaine and Brock are cool.I'm hoping they print more like those, I think the idea is they help enable non ex decks and budget options for their pack. I know the way a lot of tcgs set up their packs to have chase rares, a deck you can make just from the cards in the pack, and cards that support other previously established decks, and I think the trainer cards like Brock, surge, koga, Blaine are their way of helping make pack specific decks rn.
Making them an engine you can slot together with other pokemon is really fun to build around too, I hope they do more poke specific trainers
