>>53657096>How would your designs work?Definitely a big fan of incorporating inorganic objects or concepts into monsters, but it's an ongoing process. The rule of cool should always be the guiding principle, a design can have as much thought or lore behind it but if it doesn't look like something you'd want on your team then back to the drawing board.
>Would you try and ape Pokémon's philosophies or do something new?Pokémon has done several things right since its conception. I'll try and choose a more adult premise, but the notion of bonding with your creatures is still something I'd like to keep. Adventuring and exploring with a merry crew of creatures is what still draws me to the games.
>Would you change genres?Ideally I'd like to give more attention to conversing with NPCs and more interactions related to traits of the main playable character, even though battles themselves are still dealt exclusively by your creatures. I see no problems with turn based combat though, but I'd like to make efforts to reduce RNG when applicable, while still allowing high-risk-high-reward choices.
>Would you shift the focus away from story and onto something else?Only in the sense that there should be lots more to do besides the main story and that while not open-world the character should have easier access to adjacent areas.
