I've probably posted this story before in baww threads before but anyways
When I was a kid, my mother took me and my brother on a camping trip. My brother bought me Silver because some reason they loved how excited I was and my naive outlook. Little did I know my mom took this trip because this was going to be her last. She didn't tell anyone, although my brother suspected something was up. She was diagnosed with a terminal disease and this was her last chance to enjoy life with her kids.
Each day they would ask me about my game and each day they would play along because I made them feel like in these dark times, there is good. Shortly afterwards she was rushed to the hospital where we spent our last moments with her. My brother couldnt bear it and ran out only to make it outside of the door and hear her flatline. The guilt of running away in her last seconds ate at him and a year later he committed suicide after our lives fell apart.
I still hold onto that game. At this point its probably dead and the batteries ran out. Im an adult now, and sometimes when I play I feel the same way I did those years ago when we were together.
