For example, they'll defend Gen 6 since /vp/ commonly says that's the start of the downfall of Pokemon, but they'll shit on it when people say that it was better than say, SwSh. The goal is (You)s and the method is contrarianism, and the newest games take defensive priority over earlier ones.
