1. Gard is good in battles. Gard has good sweeping and wallbreaking potential. Also superior aganist dragons.
2. Gard can be useful outside battles. Gardevoir can do chores. Especially when gardevoir can use psychic ability. And there is favored female gardevoir because women are naturally better multitaskers than men so gard will do multiple chores at once. Of course any psychic mon can use psychic stuff for chores but... well i think other psychic mons wont cooperate as much as naturally loyal gardevoir
