Tasks with a red up arrow give 2 Research Level per milestone (Caught, Quick Attack, Evolution), otherwise it's just 1 Research Level per milestone, and you need 10 Research Level for a complete entry. If moves your own caught Shinx use contribute towards Research Tasks, then Research Level acquisition will be even easier as you rotate newly caught Pokemon to fight a little bit to use their moves and defeat other Pokemon.
You could get 10 Research Level by catching Shinx 15 times or seeing it use Quick Attack 25 times, but there's diminishing returns on that (and wasteful resource management on Poke Ball usage) compared to doing a little of everything per Pokemon, since there's 10 Star ranks and the first one probably requires 40 complete entries (assuming Research Points = Research Level).
