If you don't think they're real whatever but stop using past art as a reason.
Gamefreak doesn't release all of it's art, and on top of that art lacks rules and structure. You'll find that art often differs within the same gen if you really dig around. And it especially differs between gens. For example Milotic and Metagross share the same piece of concept art, while Gible gets a nice spread of pictures.
And there's a clear difference between concept art and reference sheets.
This board's clear lack of understanding about art is bothersome.
