I think that Breloom is the ideal pokemon. It takes inspiration from two natural things (Mushroom and Kangaroo), it isn't just a bigger or angrier version of it's previous evolution (like half of gen 1), it's not a carbon copy of any other pokemon (unlike half of gen 5), it has stats that make it good but not overpowered (only its attack is very high), it's abilities and moveset work together well make it a huge threat. It also has a type combination that isn't overused.
