Reminder that no matter how much you beg for remakes, the Switch will never have every region that ever existed playable like the 3DS had by 2017.
It has no backwards compatibility and no Virtual Console.
While the Switch can easily last ten years, and Game Freak releases a new game every year, that leaves only around 5 opportunities to release games until 2027. And that’s assuming a new console doesn’t release in, say, 2025 or 2026 and Gamefreak doesn’t immediately jump onto it. Those 5 games have to include NEW games as well, naturally, whittling down the chances. 2023 can easily be taken up solely by SV DLC too, leaving 4 years instead of 5.
It would be physically impossible for them to remake Johto, Unova, Kalos, AND Alola in that timespan.
And no, there is no hope of Nintendo Switch Online suddenly gaining 3DS games. Honestly, even GBC seems like it’ll never happen. Which is insane, since SNES, Genesis and N64 games are on there.
The 3DS will continue to be the superior Pokemon console.
