>>48609138The only thing Gen II really sucks at is the level curve and that's mainly as a result of the game trying (and partially failing) to be open world following Ecruteak. Gen I handled it much better with the game becoming open world, but realigning itself before the end with Blaine and Giovanni.
Stuff like "all the new Pokemon suck competitively" and "the Pokemon distribution sucks" aren't inaccurate but at the same time they're not problems exclusive to Gen II. Just look at all the Wingull/Tentacool Hoenn memes and Luxray/Staraptor/le no fire types Sinnoh memes that exist.
