I guess the journal stops before actually reaching Rakua, At that point he and Rystal were probably not a couple yet (let alone parents), so there would be no mention of Layla to connect the dots.
Still it's weird if Layla never name dropped her parents to Diana, even if Lucius died/disappeared while she was still inside Rystal's womb. For some reason either Rystal or Layla never passed the information, maybe something went really wrong that they never wanted to talk about it, or couldn't.
Worth noting that Rystal gets tense at the mention of Rakua (picrel), hinting it's not a happy memory. At the point she was picked from the timeline, Terapagos is already in pendant form, and she's relieved to see Lucius' pokémon are fine.
