When growing up, Pokémon is a useful tool to help develop (or ruin) sexualities because it features a wide array of monsters with different shape, biologies, cool powers, and dynamics. You are given a huge list of creatures and at least a few of them are bound to make your imagination go weird places. Pokémon is an experimentation tool.
Speaking as now an adult, my sexuality is less plastic and I know what I like when I see it. I don't need to experiment. Not to mention, I just can't be arsed to fantasize about Pokémon like I used to. Nowadays, I consider only a small pool of Pokémon to be at least vaguely attractive AND only about a dozen of those do I ever still fantasize remotely about—and half of that dozen are Eevee.
