(maybe due to feminism), but on the flipside the Japanese fandom tends to make her way too feminine relative to canon. Canon does a better job of straddling the line
or at least it used to.
The tricky nature of Ruby and Sapphire's theme (subverting sex roles without going "overboard") also means the author's understanding of their characters is best revealed in scenes where Ruby/Sapphire are fucking, and fucking each other specifically. It's the ultimate Franticshipping media literacy test
or just a way to tell whether the author might be pozzed.
