>>38481731It's kind of silly to let others dictate to you what you should nickname your mons right? I love my Venusaur and I even went out of my way to Ribbon Master him. He's won me a few local tournaments (nothing that big, just stuff at game stores where we had to do our own thing) and has been with me for about five or six years now (X/Y came out in 2013). I don't mind his name, even if it is kind of silly. I'm just happy I can have memories of something I treasure fondly.
And since this is getting derailed here's another story:
>Come up against a guy with a mono-dragon team>Bring my Venusaur, my Clefable (who I've had since leaf green) and Garchomp>We both lead with Garchomp>We both set up Stealth Rocks on the first turn>He outspeeds me and hits a Dragon Claw, doing quite a number. I use Outrage and OHKO in return.>He sends out Altaria, who is dented by the Sneaky Pebbles, and Mega-Evolves before finishing off my chomp with Moonblast>Send out my Saur, KO them with Sludge Bomb and eat up their Fire Blast>His last mon is a Dragonite, which gets it's multiscale broken by the surreptitious stalagmites >Click Sludge Bomb again>He uses Dragon Dance, and gets poisoned and forced to eat his Auguv Berry>Guy just DQ's for being hit with statusOh yeah, and everything he had was shiny. Why is it that the more shiny pokemon a person has, the more likely they seem to be to disconnect when anything goes wrong? The Tapu guy above was the only exception to this I've seen really.
