There is a sense that the city was build upon dreams of economic growth, like so many metropolitan regions of America. The abundance of entertainment options offered by Nimbasa city reflects America's open-mindedness for new forms of art and entertainment to emerge. With a more philosphical significance, Mistralton City's identity as an airport city captures the phenomenon of America being a dream destination for people from all over the world.
For the first time ever, Pokemon designed a African-American gym leader, Lenora, as well as a visible minority as the league champion, Iris. This not only reflects the diversity of the American people, it reflects the American sentiment that anyone has a chance to make something out of themselves, regardless of their origin.
