Third Checkpoint: Clear!
The gang went for a little stay at the S.S. Anne while it remained docked in Vermillion, where they faced off against a bunch of drunken sailors and learnt to cut small trees.
Thanks to a little altercation with Team Rocket in Cerulean, both Takashi and Ryuji powered up their Ekans and Paras with the TM Dig, allowing them to become much stronger and evolve, eventually taking on Lt. Surge on their own without much trouble. Ayako got a call about her mother being sick, and thus she made her way back to Pallet Town through Digglet's Cave, where upon exiting it, she traded Poppy the Jigglypuff for a Mr. Mime, as she lacked the Moon Stone to evolve her. Yuka succeeded where Ayako previously failed, as she managed to catch a slippery Abra before it teleported. Yuka continued to train the fish she got conned into buying, but it remains useless as of yet.
