Try one shitmon at a time, and maybe test the team on showdown before comitting to making the effort to breed/train them on cart.
On my end, I'm actually testing a team for one of my faves: sceptile, my ribbon master. I finally managed to get my OG sceptile from ruby to sword, and will make the effort to get him to master rank so he can have that last ribbon. After some testing, offensive sceptile is not really working out in this meta, so will try support sceptile with screech or something.
