In Prime Emily's story she's a Mage and she was born with purple hair but it became white after her first magical outburst.In this case eventually Trainer Emily was changed to start with Black hair and became white hair after 'making contact' with Mawlie in a sense. Otherwise I don't remember the MOTIVE behind any of it though besides just distancing myself from my old cringe fandoms and being determined to rise into something of my own that can simply be adapted to fandoms I take a fancy to.
