Can't really say exactly why myself. I do love having a Sunny Day user/Drought person in my team though and being able to get off a Growth before sweeping shit up though. Even in normal play, I find that it's a pretty decent mixed attacker. Not the best speed or defenses, but it usually gets the job done.
Plus I'm a fan of the design, it just looks like a mon that could sit down with me on the couch while I watch TV and throw food into his mouth. Maybe have it and a few other grass types to keep me company.
