It's dark-type and has black fur, so it's a good symbol of blackness. It's even named "Blacky" in Japanese and it used to be normal as an Eevee before it was black.
And it has very high special defense and an immunity to psychic-type moves, meaning it'll be extremely resistant, if not immune, to mental assassination.
And as an Eeveelution, it's notably friendly and companionable toward humans, so you won't have to worry about it turning on you.
