>>44122904>So the general consensus is that Gen.5 is the last good one, with older players tending towards Gen.4 and younger players towards Gen.6.Essentially, yes. The 108-respondent survey found the DS-era Pokemon generation to be the consensus of the last "good" generation by 71.3%, with a mild (but statistically significant) regression trend that younger respondents were more tolerant of newer generations than older respondents.
>>44123172>Voting was not blindCorrect, this may have lead to some unconscious voter bias, and should be handled differently if this were a more rigorous environment
>Unusally high amount of 28-year old genwunners in the surveyI think that's more to do with the /vp/ board demographics and the audience of who's being surveyed. It suppose it should be noted then that that's the case here rather than perceiving the survey as a general population of Pokemon fans.
>>44123540>No significant difference between choosing gen5 versus ageThat makes sense, given that Gen5 was largely regarded by all respondents (56.5%) as the last 'good' generation. The regression of age becomes more apparent with the data from respondents' ages that chose earlier and later gens (2/3 and 7/8, respectively). To be fair though I didn't run a t-test on that observation before writing my discussion so I don't know how significant that is.
