>>58427209I mean, for that anime style, you need to get cel shading just right, and I don't have any hope they are going to do that because their coding sucks and half of it is making sure the shader is just right and doesn't break with more complex lighting effects and etc. which you can see. IMO, the current champ is Granblue Relink on this front. Gamefreak themselves though purposefully did not choose that artstyle for the non-Nintendo game they are making with Beast of Reincarnation and went for the realistic look instead. So I doubt they'll be able to nail it down anytime soon with Pokemon as long as they are allowed to half ass and still sell the games like it's cocaine.
