>>52877248A hug would be great, really. It wouldn't feel out of place and it's not something inherently romantic. It's just something that shows they're close, and it's more physical than a high-five (although don't get me wrong, I love those too). Hell, if you remember the last episode of DP, when they did their last high-touch, Pikachu and Piplup did one too, and transitioned it into a hug themselves. They should just do that, it's cute and it's not like it's a huge romantic cue or anything (although shippers WOULD go crazy)
