>>56496384I eventually figured it out, in Volt White 2 Redux/Blaze Black 2 Redux the games wants you to see a cutscene at twist mountain first.
I can't remember if it was like this in base BW2 but I don't think it is since one of the team Plasma members referenced the gen 1 trainers who use whips and those have been thoroughly removed.
Also Colress was there with some fakemon he bought the rights for from Pokestar studios. Anyways I don't have enough time left to play today and both of his fakemon died in one hit so I'll leave it here and build my Skyla team tomorrow.
