Platinum. That's mostly for personal reasons though, I was going through a tough point in my life and wasn't in the mood for playing video games at all. I tried to, and I just couldn't connect.
Ironically I liked Diamond and Pearl more than most people because I was going through another tough point in my life, but a totally different one where I was in the hospital with nothing to do. Pearl was my only friend for a while.

I'm not sure. I have fond memories of each gen in some way, and even though the earliest games probably make me feel the most nostalgic looking back on them, at the same time I think Black and White 2 iare my favorite games and that the series as a whole improves each generation (not in every way, but overall, it gets better).
I'm at a hype factor at about 8/10 for X and Y, 9/10 if we can transfer over our Pokemon from gen 5. Can't wait.
