We all know the graphical excuses are shit. But what about balance? Removing mons will just refocus the imbalance elsewhere. Pokemon has always been imbalanced. If they were concerned, why can't they
>re-stat every mon
They've added 10 points here and there to a few mons in a past. Most pokemon have had the same base stats from their birth, so over 20 years for the originals.
>rebalance all the moves (bp, pp, accuracy, etc.)
They've also done this many times.
>rebalance move sets
Possibly a little more ambitious, and could complicate trading from Home, but they'd rather just make that impossible.
Power creep always happens, but it's especially annoying when it's sped up by a bad design philosophy. By this I mean adding more and more legendaries each gen, culminating with half of the Alola dex being UBs and Tapus.
Just reset everything. Make all the legendaries significantly stronger, but ban them from in-game battle facilities and give the option to exclude them in online battles. Market your game like "Pokemon, a new beginning" or some cheesy shit.
