This is the only correct answer.
>Falkner
Falkner seems more an emo/spiky guy than a round owl guy, so one Hoothoot to avoid repetition, then Spearow and still Pidgeotto to fit the aesthetic.
>Bugsy
His team would be absolutely fine if they just evolved the cocoons. Scyther is fine, as Scizor would be too strong and also it would give more of an unfair advantage to Cyndaquil.
>Whitney
Clefairy and Miltank are fine, I've just expanded it by adding more pink/cute stuff, Wigglytuff and Chansey. I did not add Snubbull, because that's weak as fuck and a trainer directly next to Whitney uses it already.
>Morty
One of the Haunters is replaced with Misdreavus, other than that he's fine, not much variety you can do with Ghost in gen 2.
>Chuck
Primeape and Poliwrath work, Machoke added as the quintessential Fighting line but not a Machamp like Bruno's, Hitmontop but no other Hitmons (again, slightly different from Bruno) and Heracross simply because it's the only remaining Fighting-type line in gen 2.
>Jasmine
One of the Magnemites evolved for variety/strength, Skarmory because it actually fits the mineral theme she has, Ampharos from the lighthouse, and still Steelix. FUCK Forretress and Scizor. As much as I like those two, they're bug exoskeletons. Not raw silvery mineral stuff like Skarmory. They simply don't fit Jasmine.
>Pryce
Dewgong and Piloswine the same, Lapras added as similar to Dewgong, Jynx and Delibird because he has Father Christmas vibes. No Sneasel, I just don't think it fits his warm old man aesthetic.
>Clair
The two Dragonairs/Gyarados thing from HGSS, Seadra in addition to Kingdra because it's the OG seahorsedragon, and Nidoking because it's a vaguely beastly thing (Baragon), quite strong, and doesn't overlap with Lance's Charizard or Aerodactyl.
>BUT MUH JOHTOMONS!
Fuck off, zoomer. There is no such thing as a "Johtomon". All gen 1 Pokémon are also on the Johto Pokédex. Gen 2 is intended as a sequel first and foremost. It's not a soft reboot.
