The last three gen had giant content update like with SM (introducing regional variant, meaning GF could just recycle old pokemon), SwSh (first mainline pokemon on a console/dexcut), SV (Open world and tons of QoL stuff). Unless the next game is lacking in someone new, or adding another type, then eevee will be ignore. Afterall, they were shilling Eevee that does NOT want to evolve with Lets Go and the last part of the anime.
